"Men are seeking to regain a more youthful look, improve their self-image and feel better about their appearance," said Dr. Scot Glasberg, president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
According to Times Free Press, the number of male plastic surgeries has increased by more than 106 percent.
Many men are also undergoing these procedures to get ahead in the office. Asyounger generations of employees maintain healthier lifestyles, hormone treatments, anti-aging products and overall great well-being, older men are feeling the push to follow suit. A youthful appearance associated with more energy and a go-getter initiative, something employers look for in employees.
Other men choose to undergo these procedures because a female significant other had work done. Although men may not always be viewed as caring about their appearance, many do care about what others think of them.
