Protruding veins can be treated by injection with sclerotherapy (sclero – means hard). The injection solution is simply saline in concentrated amounts with a small amount of local anesthetic. As a result of the injection unsightly dilated blood vessels collapse and sclerose (harden then disappear).
Protruding or dilated veins around the eyes, temple, or legs
The treatment handpiece is passed over the area to be treated and pulses of light energy are delivered. The treatment pulse is signaled by a tone and a flash of light. There is minimal to no pain. The treatment handpiece has a cooling head which is applied to the skin before and after the pulse.
Immediately after the treatment, you may feel a mild sunburn-like sensation. Occasionally, you may have minor swelling which can last from 2-24 hours. Cooling is used to minimize the potential for swelling.
Long Island vein treatment patients may return to regular activities & work without any downtime. If sunspots were treated, they will darken and fall off within 1 week. For Rosacea, skin tone will have less pronounced redness within 1 week. Vessels may disappear or darken after treatment and completely or partially fade within 10 days. Several treatments are usually required for complete clearance of these problems.
